WORKING MOM LIFE REALITY
Growing up I heard the phrase “you can have it all” the career AND motherhood. Like we should be lucky we are allowed to do TWO FULL TIME jobs! We ate it up, like I should be grateful I get to have my business AND my child.
I am.
I love what I do and I have never wanted anything more than to be a mother.
I remember giving birth and working 10 days later because small business owners don’t get maternity leave.
I remember my son being sick with 103 fevers and not being with him because you can’t cancel on a wedding.
I remember while having a miscarriage and coming to work with a smile on my face because that’s what “doing it all” means.
I remember holding him while he slept as the only time I got with him that day.

I don’t know what the answer is BUT I do know doing it ALL isn’t a prize we should be grateful for. I think it makes us warriors, survivors, true working mothers, devoted, and most of all human.
I think instead of “doing it all” we need to change that to “I need help to make it all work”
The system is broken and we shouldn’t be grateful, we should change it for the next generation.

I am sharing with you something that is a passion of mine. I was always taught from a young age that we must leave the world a better place than we found it . I think about this on a daily basis and what I can do to impact change locally, within our community and globally.
Some days I feel really limited and helpless and some days I am inspired.
This is something that has inspired me and I feel like we can do something.
FACTS
94% of domestic violence cases in New York City were dismissed in 2023.
49% of DV cases outside New York City were dismissed in 2023.
Since 2019, NYC domestic violence dismissals rose by about 15%.
Overall case dismissal rates in Manhattan increased from 42% in 2019 to 62% in 2023 (a 48% increase).
NY bail reform ended money bail for over 90% of misdemeanor and non-violent felony cases statewide — meaning many defendants, including in DV-related lower charges, are released without cash bail.

66–68% of incarcerated women have a diagnosed mental health condition (much higher than men).
Up to 75% of incarcerated women have experienced domestic violence prior to incarceration.
Roughly 60% of female inmates have been diagnosed with a mental illness in some studies.
43% of people in NYC jails had behavioral health disorders (including mental health & substance use).

The world needs more light in the world. I am proud to be lighting several menorah’s this year, third generation menorahs , and two from Israel to here, and a one Asher made with Mikhail.
I am proud to be able to light these candles in my home. Resilience is something every generation has learned and faced.

The world needs more light in the world. I am proud to be lighting several menorah’s this year, third generation menorahs , and two from Israel to here, and a one Asher made with Mikhail.
I am proud to be able to light these candles in my home. Resilience is something every generation has learned and faced.
Today is another example of us rebuilding and overcoming hate and coming together to find strength.

Lately I’ve been hearing, “you’re so lucky to be successful, doing so well at such a young age.” And while I’m grateful & thank G-d everyday, the truth is it’s not just luck. It’s years of hard work. Grit. Determination. Running a small business isn’t easy. If it were, everyone would do it. For Anna’s Hudson Valley wedding, we created a soft, glowing bridal look that complemented the beautiful outdoors. We also had the honor of glamming her entire bridal party — each look cohesive, fresh, and tailored to their natural features 🤍🌿 Such a gorgeous group inside and out.
